See Ya' Down The Road
|
Total Freedom Two years ago we hit the road traveling fulltime. What we liked best was having freedom - total freedom. There was no more punching the time clock at work. There was no more house or yard work, painting, cleaning gutters and no more real estate taxes. We can sleep until we wake, eat when we get hungry and go to bed when we get sleepy. We have the freedom to move from state to state and to Mexico and Canada. We spend the summers up north and the winters in the south. What a great country. September, 11, 2001, we realized we had been taking freedom for granted. We watched the horror of planes crashing into the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon. It is unbelievable that terrorists have such disregard for human lives using airplanes with innocent passengers to crash into buildings of more innocent people. The heros are the firemen, policemen and the passengers who took down the airplane in Pennsylvania to save more innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers have been with those killed and injured and with their families. The world has changed and we have now lost
much of our freedom. There will be delays and extra security checks at
airports. There will be more thorough searches when we cross borders to
our neighboring countries. But we will never complain because this is still
the greatest country in the world.
