Clean Wheels
Make a Motorhome Look Better

Back in 2000 in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina I met a man that left an impression with me. He and his wife traveled in a 2000 Dutch Star similar to our motorhome and they parked behind us. This man was handicapped with multiple sclerosis and rode a scooter to get around. His motorhome was equipped with hand controls for driving and a side had been reconstructed with a lift so he could get in and out of his motorhome.

He would have loved to wash his motorhome but being confined to a scooter he could not reach very high so he kept the tires and wheel covers clean and shining. He told me clean wheels make a motorhome look better and that has stuck with me.

In 2002 during my two surgeries for cancer and the following radiation therapy I did not feel good enough, or have the strength, to wash my motorhome so when I had a burst of energy I cleaned the tires and wheel covers. It not only made our motorhome look better but it made me feel better.

Often we look at the big picture in bad situations when we should look at small positive things. Never look at the negative when there is something positive.

Today our motorhome was dirty from driving through rain and mud. I cleaned the wheels and not only did the motorhome look better, it made me feel better too.
