See Ya' Down The Road

413 and Counting
Tonight we stopped at the Flying J Truck Plaza near Jackson, Georgia and decided to spent the night since there was a paved area for RVs separate form the rest of the truck stop. We love free overnight parking and when driving from Point A to Point B if it takes more than one day we often stay at Wal-Marts of truck stops. I updated our travel database and realized this was the 413th time we have stopped for the night in our motorhomes since we started fulltiming over six years ago. Some times we stop for only one night and other times we stop for months, but every view from our living room is different. When we lived in a house we had a beautiful view out the front windows and a nice view out the rear windows, but it was the same views day after day and year after year. With our 413 stops in motorhomes we have had hundreds of different views. (As a disclaimer we have stopped in some of the places more than once so the number of different places is actually about 380.) Some people are satisfied with the same view but we like to have different views. We have stayed in forty states, eight provinces in Canada and in Mexico. We have "camped" facing the Pacific Ocean, Sea of Cortez, Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic Ocean, the North Atlantic, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and more rivers and stream that I can mention. We have camped in beautiful valleys while looking up at majestic snow capped mountains and camped on mountain tops while looking down on green lush valleys. We have camped in city, county, state and national parks and just feet from rivers where trout awaited our hooks. Elk and deer have grazed around our motorhomes while fox and possums visited at night. Tomorrow night we'll be in City of Roses RV Park in Thomasville, Georgia with a view we have never seen before, but we're sure it will be better than the view from our old house. What will your view be tomorrow? |
