| We spent the month of December in Louisville
while I recovered from cancer and radiation, but we did fly to Minnesota
between Christmas and New Years to be with family. This month's travelog
is mostly pictures and next month we will be back on the road and write
about our travels.
Linda spent most of the month playing with
her new sewing computer turning out Christmas gifts. It is a Bernina 440QEE
sewing machine that has a built-in computer, but also connects to a laptop
computer for making embroidered designs. Once Linda mounts the fabric in
the embroidery model and presses the start button she can walk away while
the laptop computer talks to the sewing machine's computer which puts the
exact design on the fabric. Sometimes Linda uses it as a regular sewing
machine and sometimes she operates her new Serger sewing machine to turn
out beautiful articles. Below are pictures of only a few of her hand-made
Christmas presents.

Christmas was celebrated with Linda’s family
in Louisville. We had a great time and Santa Claus (son-in-law Trent) paid
a visit and handed out presents to the youngsters.

After Christmas we flew to Minnesota to meet
some of my family. My son Troy, his wife Sandy and their sons Luke and
Logan hosted the Christmas reunion in their beautiful home. Gloria (my
sister) and Don Martin from Kokomo, IN, who we travel with us often, were
there along with their son David, his wife Christy and their new baby Audrey.
David and Christy had waited many years for her arrival and she was only
three weeks old when she flew from Chicago to Minnesota. My son Darren
and his wife Martha from Mt. Sterling, KY were there also. We had a great
time and Troy treated us to several delicious meals.

We flew back to Louisville and immediately
went to Claudia Sanders’ Dinner House to celebrate John Click’s (Linda’s
father) eightieth birthday. (Claudia Sanders was the wife of Col. Harlan
Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken.) We had a great time with family
and good old Kentucky Home Cooking. I forgot my camera so I don't have
any pictures.
I apologize for all the pictures this month
and next month we will be back on the road and writing about our travels.
The last several months I fought cancer and endured radiation and I am
so happy that is behind me and we are back on the road. |
